How do I remove metadata from a photo?

What metadata gets removed?
The full strip produces a copy of your photo with an empty metadata layer. That includes:
- GPS location:latitude, longitude, altitude and direction.
- Device identifiers:camera make, model, serial number and owner name.
- Dates and times:when the photo was taken, digitised and edited.
- Software traces:editing tools, versions and creator applications.
- Embedded thumbnails and previews:small copies of the image that can survive edits.
- AI fingerprints:C2PA Content Credentials, Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI parameters.
Does removing EXIF data reduce image quality?
No. Unlike converters that re-encode the picture, ExifClean rewrites only the metadata. There is no recompression: the pixels stay identical, and the ICC colour profile and orientation flag are preserved, so colours and rotation don't change after cleaning.
How do I delete metadata from many photos at once?
To remove EXIF data in bulk, the main tool has a Batch mode: select multiple images, clear their metadata in one action and download everything as a single ZIP archive.
What's the difference between EXIF, IPTC and XMP?
EXIF is written by cameras and phones (settings, dates, GPS); IPTC is the press/agency layer (captions, credits); XMP is Adobe's extensible layer that can mirror both and carry AI provenance. This remover clears all three at once.
